For power delivery, multipin connectors are commonly used. As power delivery plays the most important part in the railway industry, it needs multipin connectors for proper functioning. They are pretty big, as they have to handle the load of the electricity. Most of the time, the railway company prefers using standard multipin sockets, like military-grade sockets, for convenience and durability.
